Home Education Day | Impressionism

Thursday 5 November 2026 | Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum

Step into the beautiful world of Impressionism in this landscape workshop, inspired by Claude Monet. Children can learn all about colour mixing and impressionist painting techniques to create their own Monet-inspired landscapes.

Younger artists will create tissue-paper waterlilies, experiment with painting using different tools such as brushes, sponges and their fingers, and learn how to mix every colour of the rainbow!

Older children will explore colour theory in greater depth, use acrylic painting techniques to capture light, colour and atmosphere, and create their own waterlilies collage.

This is the perfect workshop for children who love to experiment and take inspiration from the natural world around them.
