Home Education Day | Atchin Tan
Tuesday 8 December 2026 | Worcestershire County Museum at Hartlebury Castle
How much do you know about Gypsy, Roma and Traveller culture and traditions?
Join us at Worcestershire County Museum at Hartlebury Castle for a Home Education Day exploring the history of Worcestershire’s largest ethnic minority group. This unique day combines history, art, geography, language and religion, and will appeal to all Key Stages.
There will be traditional storytelling, the opportunity to design your own vardo (wagon), paint a traditional Christmas decoration, learn some Romani language and join fact-finder sessions with a fun trail around the County Museum.
There will also be hands-on craft sessions facilitated by The Circle of Hope, a local Gypsy, Roma and Traveller charity.
This day is part of the Atchin Tan Project celebrating the collections and stories of the travelling community.
Under 2s – FREE
Under 5s – £5
Over 6s – £7.50
