Bank Holiday Monday 29 May, 11am – 4pm

A “super” May half-term holiday is in store at Worcestershire County Museum as superhero-inspired storytelling and crafts come to Hartlebury Castle.

On Bank Holiday Monday 29 May, storyteller Ian Craigan will be brimming with tales of superheroes in interactive adventure sessions for families throughout the day. Excitingly, children can meet characters Thor and Wonder Woman on Monday too – there’s plenty of scope for lovely photos with the Castle as a magical backdrop.

Children (and grown-ups!) are welcome to come dressed up in their most heroic outfits for the day. Visitors’ special powers can be tested on a quest to discover all the superheroes hidden around the Castle and Museum in a fun trail, and families can check out themed crafts; their creations can be taken home for future adventures.

The event is on from 11am to 4pm, and superhero adventure sessions with Ian will take place at 11.30am and 12.30, 1.30, and 2pm.

The holiday fun continues with crafts through the week where children can make their own wooden puppet superhero and more. The crafts are running 11am to 4pm from Tuesday 30 May to Thursday 1 June, and the trail continues until Sunday 4 June.

“It’s going to be a ‘super’ holiday with so much for families to enjoy – we can’t wait to see Thor and Wonder Woman on Bank Holiday Monday!” Pippa Ashmore, Events and Visitor Services Coordinator at Worcestershire County Museum, Hartlebury Castle.

Round off a great day out with a walk around the moat to the brilliant woodland play area. During the day, visitors can refuel at Hayley’s Kitchen café or settle into one of the lovely picnic areas which have accessible benches.

Hartlebury Castle is situated just off the A449 between Kidderminster and Worcester. Parking is free. Visitors can book in advance and can plan their visit on Hartlebury Castle’s website: hartleburycastle.com.
