For Immediate Release

Thursday 8 December 2022

The Christmas season is here – and the museums are ready for fantastic family activities through December 2022. From a reindeer roundup at Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum to gingerbread-infused workshops at The Commandery, there is plenty of hands-on fun for visitors this month.

Make Christmas memories with gingerbread-filled mornings at the historic Commandery through December. Children can make their own gingerbread man decoration, a craft a wintery house, and delve into sensory trays to see what they can create with gingerbread playdoh. Every session comes to a close with a story, drink and a biscuit.

Christmas at The Commandery will take place from 10.30am to 12noon on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 December, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 December, and Tuesday 20 and Thursday 22 December. Usual admission applies + £5 per child for the activity morning.

Oh deer! Santa needs help to round up his reindeer at Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum. Family activity bags will be available from the shop – filled with exciting reindeer-themed activities – from Saturday 17 December. Can you complete the quest to round up all Santa’s reindeer in time to deliver all the children’s presents for Christmas? The answers to the trail spell out the word that he needs to get his most important sleigh adventure of the year underway!

Families can also get creative making their own wonderful decorations and more. Reindeer Roundup will be running from Saturday 17 December to Saturday 31 December for £3.50 per bag. Entry to the museum is free.

“Christmas is a magical time to visit the museums with family – there are plenty of opportunities to be immersed in the festivities of the season before we arrive in 2023.” – Helen Manning, Events and Activities Coordinator at The Commandery.
