Enjoy two weeks of animal-inspired family fun at The Commandery and Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum over the Easter holidays!

At The Commandery, follow a magical trail of decorated fairy doors – with an infusion of Easter bunny fun! Explore the historic building – from the medieval Painted Chamber to the wood-panelled Tudor rooms and beautiful gardens – to find them all. Then, families can get creative by making a bunny door to take home. What will it look like? Usual admission to The Commandery applies + £3 for the activities.

Commandery Coffee will be open with homemade toasties, cakes, and its lovely canal-side views. Visitors can get free admission to The Commandery all year with a season or Worcester residents’ pass. Please visit the website for more information and to plan a visit: museumsworcestershire.org.uk.

It’s all about Wonderous Wildlife at Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum during the Easter holidays. On Wednesdays 27 March and 3 April, children can learn to make felt puppets inspired by the natural history collection. On Thursdays 28 March and 4 April, join sessions all about animal habitats – choose which creature to make a home for and discover what habitat it needs to live. The sessions are £4.50 per child and run from 10.30 to 11.30am, aimed at children ages 5 to 11 years. There are limited spaces; booking is essential at museumsworcestershire.org.uk.

Visiting another time? The Art Gallery and Museum’s Bags of Fun will be available from Saturday 23 March to Sunday 7 April. Head to the Activity Space for creative fun and make three animals – a prickly hedgehog, flapping butterfly and a spiral snake, and enjoy colouring and puzzles too! Follow the trail to find all the pawprints around the Art Gallery and Museum and identify which animal they belong to. Pick up activity bags from the shop for £2.50, and a trail for £1.

Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum is free to visit. Pop into café Little Al’s on the Balcony for delicious homemade food and drinks.

“It’s always exciting to be inspired by the natural history collection! We can’t wait to see lots of families enjoying the museums over the holidays,” Megan Keary, Learning and Outreach Coordinator at Museums Worcestershire.
