Hartlebury Christmas

Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 December | Worcestershire County Museum at Hartlebury Castle

A Family Christmas returns to Hartlebury Castle this December!

Enjoy a magical December day out in the Worcestershire countryside where the castle and museum will be dressed for Christmas and Santa himself is waiting inside…

There’ll be so much to enjoy, including:

  • Book to meet Santa and receive a gift – timed slots are bookable (£8, limited spaces)
  • Follow the Nutcracker Trail – can you find all the soldiers around the castle?
  • Meet Mother Christmas!
  • Write a letter to Santa in the Victorian Schoolroom
  • Decorate a Christmas biscuit to eat
  • Make Christmas crafts to take home
  • Watch juggling and try it for yourself
  • Enjoy festive music
  • Explore the castle, museum and grounds – including the woodland play area

Hartlebury Castle’s volunteer gardeners have been busy making beautiful Christmas wreaths which you can buy to adorn your door at home.

A Family Christmas is the perfect way to get the festive season going for children – and grown-ups too!

Admission info

Whole-site admission applies. The nutcracker trail is free on this weekend.

If you’d like an exclusive 10-minute meeting with Santa (including a present!*), this is £8 and must be pre-booked as there are limited time slots.

*Ages 10+ receive a selection box unless you request different (allergy-free catered for if stated at time of booking).

Can you find all 12 nutcracker soldiers at Hartlebury Castle? Look out for the fairy too!

Discover the nutcracker story as you follow this festive family trail.

The trail is 50p + whole-site admission. It’s free to follow during A Family Christmas on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 December.

Hartlebury Castle is open until Saturday 23 December inclusive (closed Mondays).

It is then closed from Sunday 24 December until Wednesday 31 January.

We look forward to seeing you again from Thursday 1 February 2024!

The Commandery

Reindeer Roundup! Christmas at The Commandery.

Santa’s reindeer have escaped and they’re hiding all around The Commandery!

Can you round them all up in time for their special journey to deliver the children’s presents? Each reindeer will give you a clue – when you’ve found them all, you’ll be able to spell the word that’ll help Santa start his magical sleigh ride.

You can also make your very own reindeer bauble to take home with you and hang on the tree.

Admission info

Drop in; no booking needed. £3 for Reindeer Roundup trail and craft. General admission also applies and can be paid for on arrival or booked online.

You can get free admission to The Commandery if you have a season or Worcester Residents’ pass (£3 for activities still applies) – find out more and plan your visit.

The Commandery is open as usual until Saturday 23 December inclusive (closed Mondays).

Closed from 24 to 26 December.

Open 27 – 31 December. The Commandery is then closed for the month of January.

We look forward to seeing you again from Thursday 1 February 2024!
