A Feel of the Forties at Hartlebury Castle

Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June 2024 | Hartlebury Castle

Head back to the 1940s and remember a special D-Day anniversary.

Mark the 80th Anniversary of the June D-Day landings from 11am – 4pm on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June as you learn about life in the 1940s.

See iconic vehicles from the time, enjoy 40s fashion, listen to the live Vintage Class Singers and interact with characters inspired by the period.

A Talk with Betty Webb MBE

Sunday 16 June, 2pm.

We’re delighted to be welcoming Betty Webb MBE to the Castle on Sunday, one of the last surviving female Bletchley Park code breakers. Join her for a talk at 2pm about her fascinating life, as well as her time at the top-secret base. She’ll also be spending time at the Castle during the day to answer your questions!

More Forties Features

  • Why not dress up in your favourite vintage outfit to look the part in this celebration of the 40s?
  • Don’t forget to meet Bessie the Cook to see what wartime favourites she’s been making!
  • History lovers will be fascinated by an array of memorabilia, displays and models – including one of the Normandy invasion itself. Plus, hear talks on the Second World War and learn about the 1940s nurses and Air Raid Precautions.
