Human Machines exhibition
Saturday 11 July – Saturday 12 September
Calling all young engineers, scientists and environmentalists, this summer we are declaring a war on waste.
In Human Machines, machine meets biology in remarkable moving and interactive automatons made entirely from waste and upcycled materials. Come face to face with Hypnic jerk, our eight legged moving piano, eye up our enormous brainy heads and have the time of your life with our giant life clock.
Visit our scrapheap lab and help build our giant Iron Man and his barking dog scrappy, sign up to Cyborg school and bring your plastics and recyclables from home to create something new in the gallery. Come and declare war on waste.
Always here for you
Based in the heart of the museum, the activity space is a lovely welcoming space for all the family with lots of materials to create your own masterpiece. The Art Gallery & Museum is fully accessible and there are baby-changing facilities. Free-to-borrow activity bags give you a variety of ways to explore the changing exhibitions and include sensory toys and children’s ear defenders. Babies and children are always very welcome in the Café.
