Project Description

Key Stages 2 and 3

45 minutes

The Commandery

£1.50 per pupil per session

Immerse yourself in the chaos of civil war as you learn about the life of soldiers during this divisive time in our history.

Comprised of two hands-on activities that provide the opportunity to experience training in how to handle a pike and load and fire a cannon. Pupils will learn to listen to instructions using authentic terms of the period and how to work as a team. Using our replica cannon and tools pupils will learn how the various members of the crew performed their tasks and worked as a team, the importance of listening to instructions and the role of the cannon in the English Civil War.

Our sessions are full of handling opportunities and hands-on activities.
